Australian Man Who Charged at Ariana Grande Vows 'Keep Doing It'
The Unstoppable "Pyjama Man" and His Latest Ambush
Johnson Wen, known to many as the "Pyjama Man," has become a household name in Australia for his daring and often controversial stage invasions. This infamous prankster has made a career out of disrupting high-profile events, and his latest stunt at Ariana Grande’s Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good has once again captured public attention.
Wen's history of such antics is well-documented. In a resurfaced interview with Fifi, Fev, and Nick, he admitted that he has no intention of changing his behavior anytime soon. The conversation took place in 2024 after Wen stormed the stage during Canadian rapper The Weeknd’s Melbourne concert. At the time, he made a bold statement about his future actions, saying, “I'm literally the best pitch invader/streaker. I'll probably keep doing it but I might take a break.”
A Plan to Meet His Idol
When asked by host Fifi Box what he was thinking during his invasion, Wen revealed that his main goal was simply to meet The Weeknd. “The Weeknd is like the biggest artist on Spotify,” he said. “When I got an early entry ticket, that was my plan.” He described how he had been daydreaming about stepping onto the stage during the concert.
Brendan Fevola then asked if Wen felt any remorse for his actions. His answer was clear: “No.” He acknowledged that what he did was wrong, but he added, “I didn’t care about the consequences. I was going to do it either way, even though it was really bad to do it.”
The Cost of Fame
Despite the chaos he causes, Wen has not faced serious legal repercussions. He revealed that his stunts have landed him fines of up to $10,000, which his family often helps him pay. “I used to do solar panels on the roof and tradie work, but my sister paid some of my fines as well,” he said.
He also spoke to 7News about his Weeknd invasion, describing how he managed to get through the security. “There were way too many security guards, it looked like it was impossible to get through,” he said. “Somehow I just managed to find a small gap in my section and as soon as I was ready to run on the stage, I ran through that small gap and then I jumped up.”

Beyond Music Concerts
Wen’s antics are not limited to music concerts. He has also been known to streak across stadiums during major sporting events, including the 100m Olympic Final in Paris and the 2023 Cricket World Cup. His latest stunt came on Thursday, when he targeted Ariana Grande at the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good.
A widely shared video of the incident showed Wen lunging at Grande and throwing his arm around her as she struggled to break free at Universal Studios. Before security could intervene, Cynthia, who plays Elphaba in the film, stepped between her friend and Wen, appearing to shout at him as she tried to block his path. Moments later, a team of security guards dragged Wen away, leaving a visibly shaken Ariana to be comforted by Cynthia.
Why Does He Keep Doing It?
When asked if he felt compelled to stage his celebrity ambushes and if he was chasing fame or notoriety, Wen responded, “Kind of, but I can control it – I can stop whenever I want.” He added, “I did this all sober. Even if I had bad sleep, on the day I have to run on the stadium, I literally feel like I'm flying toward the sky.”
Despite the risks and consequences, Wen continues to push boundaries, proving that he will not be stopping anytime soon. Whether it’s music concerts, film premieres, or sporting events, the "Pyjama Man" remains a constant presence in the world of celebrity disruptions.
