Secret seating spot at UK's busiest airport - how to locate it
Finding a comfortable seat in an airport can often be a challenge, especially during peak travel seasons when the crowds are at their highest. Stansted Airport, one of the busiest hubs in the UK, serves over 27 million passengers annually. With such a high volume of travelers, it's not uncommon for the airport to become packed, making it difficult to find a place to sit.
However, there is a hidden seating area that many travelers might overlook. According to travel blogger Inside Our Suitcase, this spot is located in the 'All Gates' area. In a Facebook video, she advised travelers struggling to find space to head towards this section. Once there, she suggested looking to the right for a sign that reads "additional seating." From there, taking the escalator down to the ground floor leads to several available seats.

Inside Our Suitcase noted that there are even more seats available "around the back of the escalator." She described the seating as "really good" and mentioned that every time she has visited the area, it has been relatively quiet. The video gained significant attention, with 1.1 million views and hundreds of comments from travelers eager to use this tip on their next trip.
One viewer shared, "Don’t tell people! That’s my go-to quiet place!" while another added, "That's what we did a couple of months ago after I saw a similar video. It was great and so much quieter than the main waiting area!"
This revelation comes just after 33-year-old traveler Elaine Poon shared a little-known hack that could help passengers breeze through security in under a minute. Elaine regularly shares travel tips on her social media account, @travelainewithme. In a TikTok video that garnered 360,000 views, she demonstrated her trick at Stansted Airport.

The video shows Elaine heading towards the security gates as she explains, "When you're going through security, everyone usually enters through here." She then films the departure sign, which features electronic gates underneath to scan boarding passes.
"Instead, turn right and walk straight through here," Elaine adds, panning the camera to show a fast track sign. She continues, "A lot of people think that this is only for fast track, so no one goes to this side. But as you can see, this whole middle section is free for us to go through. This is crazy – like look at the queue on the other side."
