Sara Cox's 135-Mile Route Unveiled on Map

Sara Cox is in the midst of her Children In Need Marathon, which will conclude on Friday. As a BBC Radio 2 DJ, she has been participating in the 135-mile Great Northern Marathon Challenge, and is now approaching the end of the penultimate day of this demanding event.
During a live broadcast on Radio 2, Trevor Nelson shared some exciting news with Sara: the total funds raised for the Children In Need Challenge have surpassed £3 million, reaching an impressive £3,010,174.
A visibly emotional Sara responded to the news with enthusiasm, exclaiming, “AHHH, amazing, amazing. We’ve popped over £3 million! That is incredible, thank you so much.” She continued, “Everybody just giving a fiver or a tenner did it, that is amazing. Thank you so much. Thanks to everybody who has donated, you’re absolutely awesome. Thank you so much.”
Tomorrow marks Sara’s final day of the challenge, during which she will bring Pudsey bear to Pudsey. This milestone has already brought her to tears, as she was overwhelmed by the support she has received.

Earlier in the week, Sara broke down in tears when it was announced that she had reached the £1 million fundraising mark. Radio host Scott Mills revealed live on air that she had raised an incredible £1,002,869 for charity so far, which left Sara completely overwhelmed.
She expressed her gratitude through tears, saying, “Oh my god. One million two thousand…we’ve done a million! Oh my god. That’s massive, thank you.” She added, “You have completely broken me. Everybody who has donated, thank you so much. Oh, gosh. I can’t believe it! That is so generous. Every fiver, every tenner. It all makes a massive difference.”

Turning to her camera crew, Sara asked, “Can we have a cheer for all the amazing people donating please?” She then joked, “Gosh, that’s a lot – over a million! It took me three times to pass my GCSE maths but even I know that.”
On the third day of the challenge, Sara admitted she was struggling, saying, “If I’m honest, I’m really, really struggling this morning.” Scott, who was also on the radio, empathized, stating, “I really feel for her. She needs all the help she can get.”

Sara also shared that she had a poor night’s sleep, staying awake from midnight until 3am. She mentioned experiencing a dull ache in her legs and feet but remained determined to continue.
Throughout the day, she received support from fans, including a surprise serenade from Cockfield Primary School, who sang a modified version of Moana’s "You're Welcome" with words of encouragement. Additionally, Gethin Jones visited her on a tractor to offer much-needed support.

Sara's challenge began on Monday and will take her across four counties: Northumberland, Durham, North Yorkshire, and West Yorkshire. Starting in Kielder Forest near Scotland, she is running, jogging, and walking all the way to Pudsey.
