What Happened in the Season 20 Final?

The final episode of Taskmaster Season 20 was nothing short of unforgettable. Five comedians—Ania Magliano, Maisie Adam, Phil Ellis, Reece Shearsmith, and Sanjeev Bhaskar—faced off in a series of increasingly absurd tasks over ten weeks. From Sanjeev’s infamous urine-related challenge to the chaotic “snakes and ladders purgatory,” the season delivered some of the most memorable moments in the show’s history.

The finale, set in a pirate-themed environment, featured tasks such as making identical drinks without touching the mug and water-squirting challenges. The competition was so tight that all five contestants had a chance to win, resulting in the narrowest final in 10 years—a three-way tie between Phil, Maisie, and Ania.

The tiebreak question asked how many letter Ts were in a portrait of Greg Davies and the Taskmaster. Maisie guessed five (though the correct answer was four), securing her victory. Reece finished with 148 points, while Sanjeev came in last with 143 points.

Fan Reactions and Future Plans

Fans have praised the season, calling it one of the best in the show’s history. Social media was flooded with reactions, with fans expressing their excitement over the unpredictable finale. Some even compared it to cinematic moments, highlighting the show’s unique blend of humor and competition.

Maisie will also join previous winners for the fourth Champion of Champions season, which will feature Andy Zaltzman, John Robins, Mathew Baynton, and Sam Campbell.
