UK Parks to Get £50m Makeover with Adventure Zones and Bear Grylls Rooms

UK Holiday Parks to Undergo Major £50 Million Transformation

Parkdean Resorts, one of the UK’s leading holiday park operators, is set to invest £50 million in a major transformation of its 65 parks across the country. This significant investment aims to enhance guest experiences and ensure that families continue to return to these popular destinations year after year.

The company reported that three million holidaymakers visited its facilities last year, highlighting the strong demand for its services. With this new funding, Parkdean Resorts is looking to expand and improve various aspects of its parks, including pitch expansions, retail developments, and overall facility upgrades.

Two specific parks, Highfield Grange Holiday Park in Essex and Vauxhall Holiday Park in Great Yarmouth, will receive major transformations with each receiving £5 million in investment. These parks will see the introduction of brand new facilities, including immersive Bear Grylls escape rooms, which are designed to provide an adventurous experience for guests of all ages.

In addition to the Bear Grylls escape rooms, indoor adventure golf and improved high and low ropes activities are also planned. The company hopes to introduce a record number of new activities by next spring, ensuring there is something for everyone.

A new sports bar called Hat-Tricks is also set to open within the parks, offering guests a variety of food and drinks. This bar will also feature interactive indoor sports, adding another layer of entertainment for visitors.

The investment will also see the expansion of Tots Zones at both Highfield Grange and Vauxhall. This includes larger and better play areas for toddlers and children aged four and over, who will benefit from off-road driving ranges.

Steve Richards, CEO of Parkdean Resorts, expressed his excitement about the upcoming changes. He stated, "In 2026 we will be investing approximately £50m in our holiday parks to improve facilities, elevate guest experience, and keep families coming back to these fantastic locations throughout the UK."

He added, "As the UK's leading holiday park operator, guests return to us year after year because they trust us to deliver the quality and consistency they expect. Next year guests will see Highfield Grange and Vauxhall transformed with major investments to upgrade and diversify the on-park activities."

The company emphasized that ongoing investment in the communities it operates in is a key part of its strategy. By raising standards, Parkdean Resorts aims to remain at the forefront of the UK holiday market.

This £50 million investment is also expected to have a positive impact on the local economy, creating 100 new jobs ranging from seasonal positions to full-time roles. This follows a previous £140 million transformation in 2022, which led to the launch of the Bear Grylls Survival Academy and high ropes.

With these exciting developments, Parkdean Resorts is set to offer an even more appealing experience for families and visitors alike. The future looks bright for the UK’s holiday parks as they prepare for a new era of innovation and excitement.
