Kalaivani Balakrishnan, a 41-year-old music teacher, was expecting twins when she collapsed at her semi-detached house in Kirby on Tuesday evening.

Her impact extended far beyond the classroom, as she nurtured generations of students not just in music but in life. She taught them patience, humility, and the value of perseverance.
Her friend shared a heartfelt message: "She nurtured generations of students, not just in music but in life, teaching them patience and humility. Her loss leaves a silence that words can hardly fill. Yet her spirit continues to resonate in every song she taught, every heart she touched, and every memory she left behind. Kalaivani's melody will forever live on in our hearts, in her students, and in the music she loved so deeply."

Community Support for a Grieving Family
In the wake of this tragedy, friends have set up a GoFundMe campaign to support Kalaivani’s grieving husband, RK. The funds will be used to cover funeral and repatriation costs, as the family wishes to transport Kalaivani and her twins to her birthplace of Malaysia.
So far, around £21,190 pounds have been raised out of the £30,000 target. The fundraiser expressed the deep emotional toll on RK, stating that he is currently being supported by close friends and the compassionate staff at Alder Hey Children's Hospital Liverpool.
The goal of the fundraiser is to raise £20,000, which will go toward repatriation, funeral expenses, and supporting RK and his family. Any remaining funds will be used to assist them as they recover from this heartbreaking loss.
"Your kindness, generosity, and prayers mean so much to RK and everyone who loved Kalaivani. Together, we can help ease the financial burden and give RK the space to grieve, heal, and honour the memory of Kalaivani and her babies."
